Djerdap
Đerdap UNESCO Global Geopark is a spectacular Danube landscape where more than 600 million years of Earth’s history meet the cultural legacy of the Iron Gates. With dramatic gorges, karst landforms, caves, viewpoints, and rich archaeological heritage, it offers a unique space for discovery, education, geotourism, and local development.
Blederija Waterfall
is located near the village of Reka, about 15 km from Kladovo. It is about 7 m high and falls into a tufa basin,
forming a small turquoise-green lake. It is distinguished by the specific temperature of its springs, with a
constant water temperature of 15°C to 17°C throughout the year.
Kovilovo Viewpoint
At an altitude of 358 meters above sea level lies the Kovilovo Viewpoint, from which you can see the magnificent
Danube basin, over 25 km long. Beneath its waters lies the island where the town of Poreč was once inhabited.
The Kovilovo Viewpoint connects the natural diversity and the cultural-historical landscape along the Đerdap
Gorge.
Boljetin River Canyon
The canyon of the Boljetin River is the first protected geological site in the territory of Đerdap. The canyon
itself was formed by the Boljetin River cutting into sedimentary rocks from the Mesozoic era, dating between 170
and 113 million years old. Its present appearance is the result of numerous faults and folds caused by tectonic
disturbances.
