Karawanken/
The Karawanken/Karavanke UNESCO Global Geopark is a cross–border region of natural and cultural experiences with an outstanding geological heritage. Five Slovene and nine Austrian municipalities are bound together in an area of 1,067 km².
Karawanken/Karavanke Trail
The Karawanken/Karavanke Trail is a circular long-distance hiking trail divided into 13 stages, stretching over
265 km. It connects two countries and showcases a mix of stunning landscapes and fascinating geological
features.
Hemmaberg/Gora Sveta Hema (Junska gora)
This site has been a popular pilgrimage destination for more than 1,500 years. Perched on a naturally protected
hill (842 m above sea level) are the remnants of a large late antique settlement, once home to Romans and Celts,
along with the ruins of several early Christian churches. Nearby is a cave called the Rosaliengrotte, or
Rozalska jama, which features a healing spring.
Uršlja gora/Plešivec–mountain
Uršlja gora (1699 m above sea level) is a popular hiking destination, an almost solitary peak rising in the
middle of a valley which offers stunning views in all directions. On the summit, in addition to a mountain hut
and a broadcasting tower, there is also the highest church in Slovenia. It is a pearl of natural and cultural
heritage.
